Life has truly changed in such a flash for us across the World. Like, literally the World and everything we have ever known has been put on pause. None of us could have predicted or expected this, maybe prepared for disasters but nothing like this. For me it has been pretty tough. My anxiety has been at an all time high and I have been keeping myself busy at home to keep my mind off it all. I just want to first of course thank all the heroes working the front lines during these trying and uncertain times to help get our World that we know back to normal.

Things I have done to keep my sanity, is for one like watching less of news and articles in regards to the issue. My husband watches a lot of news so there is one of us that is staying very informed.
I feel like a lot of us are putting in extra work virtually to keep up with business, clients and followers. I don’t know about you, but I feel as though this is also overwhelming at a time like this. Please do not feel like you HAVE to drain yourself when your mind isn’t in the right space. There is a LOT going on, just honestly try to relax. Remember, we are all in this together. If I’m being truthful, my mind has been feeling so cluttered. I know there are things I need to do, but do I HAVE to right now? Sure, I can do some interviews through zoom and build a team for when this is all over, sure I can spend time doing more blogging, putting out more content on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, but oh my goodness my head is just filled with so much anxiety.
I spent a lot of time organizing my new apartment (as you can see in above pic), which I’m still not complete with, but wow I already feel burned out from it. It is actually much harder not being able to shop in the stores and get everything I feel like I need right there. Shopping online is nice and all but I keep needing something else or I didn’t order enough. I just needed a mental break, a moment to really just relax my mind. I decided to give myself a spa bath at home. I’m going to show you how to give yourself one as well during this pandemic.

Things that you are going to need:
Bath bomb - Natural bath bomb preferred. These bath bombs are made with 100% pure essential oils known for their relaxing scents, they are organic, non-GMO ingredients, No synthetic dyes or chemical fragrances. You can purchase this in a pack, but will only need one for your spa bath. (Note: tub is dark from the bath bomb, this is normal)
Candles - You’re going to want your lights off and a couple candles lit. One of my favorite brands of candles come from a local store here in the heart of Detroit, MI called Honey and Home. These candles are made with soy wax and cotton wicks that are lead and zinc free.
3. Relax with some yummy red wine. I love Stella Rosa Rosso wine, so good. If you prefer a non-alcoholic beverage, make some of your favorite tea or just some water with a slice of lemon. With wine you can add sliced cheese and crackers on the side as well.
4. Essential Oils - if you decide to go with a different bath bomb that doesn’t already have essential oils in it, try using two or one scent of essential oils. I used Lemon and Lavender for my spa bath and it was AMAZING! What I did was drop 3-5 drops of the Lavender and 5-6 drops of the Lemon. I like the lemon just a bit more stronger than the lavender, as the lavender scent actually gives me headaches for whatever reason. Nonetheless, my spa bath smelt so good and was exactly what I needed.
5. Don’t forget to have some cushion for your head, neck and shoulders, you can use a big towel rolled up, or you can order a bath pillow.
6. A plant, not a necessity but I do feel it adds to the tranquility.
7. A playlist of calm music or whatever you feel takes your stress off, I sometimes like to listen to ocean sounds, or rain sounds, nature music when I am trying to relax. As you will see below this time was different, very different spa like playlist.
8. Small Table - I found it really nice having a table next to my tub to place my items. You can also try a bath tray, these are very handy when you would like to sit your phone down or have some wine or tea.
Now that you have everything that you need. Get your warm/hot bath ready. I normally clean out my tub before and after a spa bath. While water is running, add your essential oils to the water, add your bath bomb. After my water was done what I did was place my end table next to the tub. I sat all my items on it, my plant, phone for music, bottle of wine, and wine glass, sliced cheese and candle. I had another candle lit on the bathroom counter as well, with lights off.

Okay, so remember I told you all about my playlist? Don’t judge! But I decided to listen to some dance/rave music. I don't normally listen to this so it was really different for me. For some odd reason I felt like at a time like this where everything we know feels so unknown, you know? I needed to drift off into a happy mindset, feel good like I’m out somewhere having fun, on a beach somewhere. For whatever reason “calm spa” like music just felt like it would make me sit and think even harder on what’s happening. Does that make any sense? I hope so, I also hope you enjoy your spa bath as much as I did. Let me know what self-care things you did during quarantine in the comments!
